Andrew joins Zeepay as a Co-Founder and Managing Director. He is an expert on Banking and Mobile Payments and comes on board with over 15 years of experience in Banking and Business Development. Andrew’s experience spans the world of Marketing and Banking as he has held various positions from being a Brand Manager for NESCAFE to holding roles such as Head of Retail, Head Corporate – Manufacturing Business, Head Transaction Banking, General Manager Strategy, General Manager Business Performance all in Banking and a Business Development Head and Lead Strategy Consultant for Big Four Consulting.

Andrew has had the opportunity to work with institutions such as Commonwealth Secretariat, Nestle, Barclays UK, GT Bank, Ecobank, UT Bank and PricewaterhouseCoopers. In his spare time, Andrew speaks on Mobile Payments and Banking and has been featured as a guest speaker at several International Conferences. His passion lies within Financial Inclusion and Mobile payments. He is a product of University of Hull and University of California Los Angeles. He has lived and worked in 3 Continents – Europe, North America, and Africa.

In Africa he has experience and exposure working in more than 7 markets including Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ghana, Burundi, Zambia, Malawi and South Africa. He has also been part of key retail deployments across Africa and comes on board with in-depth retail and payments experience.

Felicity is a seasoned product manager with over 5 years of demonstrated experience working in the Fintech space. She specialises in product design, innovation and implementations. Felicity is passionate about digital financial services and facilitating inclusion for the last mile in Africa and beyond.

She has been intrinsically responsible for driving Zeepay’s financial inclusion agenda through the deployment of various projects such as D4i. Over the years she has worked closely through partnerships with donor and bilateral agencies such as the UNCDF (Ghana) and RGF, to develop and deploy financial solutions for the last mile.

Felicity works for Zeepay Ghana Ltd as a Product Manager. She is responsible for the deployment of Zeepay Mobile Money and sales coordination to build an expansive distribution network of products and agent points. She is currently the Country Manager for ZeeMoney (Barbados) Ltd, a subsidiary of Zeepay Ghana Ltd. She oversees deployment & operationalisation of the business in-country

From working within Zeepay’s commercial team coupled with other diverse roles, Felicity’s experience spans across project management, business development, operations, product development and innovation.

A skilled professional with years of experience in the service industry. I like to advance myself in ways that I would be able to use my existing passion for customer service, communication, and mindfulness, to improve the customer experience.

Prior to being with the ZeeMoney team, I was afforded the opportunity to be trained at the parent company Zeepay Ghana, where I was able to cross-train in other departments such as Products and Operations, which has equipped me to be versatile in any circumstance which compromises my customer experience and satisfaction.  

Gabriella is currently the Compliance analyst at Zeemoney Barbados Ltd. Her primary role is to manage the compliance and regulatory function by maintaining a robust compliance strategy and regulatory risk framework across the company.

This includes submitting regulatory reports to the Central Bank regularly and as scheduled, ensuring the operations of the company are following compliance matters, reviewing and evaluating company policies and procedures and maintaining the MVT license for Zeemoney Barbados Ltd.

Prior to this, Gabriella worked as the Compliance analyst for the parent company, Zeepay Ghana for ten months. Gabriella holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and a master’s degree in International Affairs & Diplomacy from the University of Ghana, Legon.

Maria Oti-Acheampong is currently an Onboarding Analyst at Zeemoney, and has been on the onboarding team for three months. Prior to this, Maria was employed at Zeemoney’s parent company, Zeepay Ghana Limited, where she performed various roles, including Corporate Partners and Financial Inclusion Analyst and Marketing Analyst.

Maria brings to Zeemoney, experience in marketing, administration, and strategy management. She is an analyst with a strong controls mindset and possesses excellent leadership and communication skills. Maria has valuable experience working with clients to ensure a smooth onboarding experience whilst ensuring regulatory compliance, and minimizing overall company risk.

Maria has a BA in Business Administration from the University of Professional Studies, Ghana and a Diploma in Management Studies from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration.

An articulate and dynamic Information Systems Implementation professional who has developed comprehensive skill sets in building high performing teams leading to high levels of customer satisfaction through consistent successful project delivery.

I have over 15 years of project leadership, business process engineering and change management experience in business information systems implementation, analysing business requirements, defining solutions and managing professional services teams.

Kevin Simmons is a vastly experienced technologist, entrepreneur, and fintech investor. A native and resident Barbadian, Kevin was a founding director of energy tech company Aceleron (Barbados) Ltd and oversee the expansion of the UK-based tech company into Barbados in 2018. An experienced angel and venture capital investor, he has co-founded investing networks and syndicates in the US, UK, and Africa and now serves as a General Partner for pan-African VC leader LoftyInc Capital Management which has been recognized among the most active early-stage technology investors on the African continent.

As the Deal Lead for the organization and a manager on 3 of the funds, Kevin serves as advisor to several of LCM’s 170 portfolio companies which include 2 of Africa’s 7 unicorns, Andela and Flutterwave and other leading African technology ventures. He co-founded Rice University based Valhalla Investment Group which has invested several million in startups including 2 SPACs and a NASDAQ IPO in its 10 years of existence. Kevin is a former startup founder, co-founder, and early employee and has helped launch four technology startups, including US-based Innclusive featured in The Fast Company; The Washington Post; and Forbes.

He is sought after as a startup advisor and board member by incubators and accelerators globally and lends his experience and insight to mentor, advise, and give masterclasses for startup organizations in Canada, Africa, and the United Kingdom and is also a current Techstars Mentor. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, with service at the United States Military Academy at West Point, he excels at leadership and team dynamics in high-stress environments.

He is a current and former project professional for global oil giant Chevron where he manages complex engineering and construction projects internationally and his work has been featured in the leading industry publication Offshore. A former business consultant, Kevin holds advanced management and business degrees from Stanford University, Rice University and the University of Oxford and is passionate about football and motor sports.

Ashley serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Obsidian Achernar Limited, an Africa-focused financial services firm with offices in Ghana and the United Kingdom. He has an extensive track record in trading Foreign Exchange, Equities and Commodities. Under Ashley’s tutelage Obsidian has grown into a leader in fixed income and currencies brokerage in Ghana.

Based in London, Ashley is responsible for the development and execution of Obsidian Achernar’s strategy and extensive business activities globally with tremendous achievements to show. He successfully executed FX trades since 2018 to 2021.

Obsidian Achernar also grew its institutional client base from 15 in 2014 to 120 in 2021. Under Ashley’s steady guide, Obsidian Achernar successfully acquired a Bank of Ghana FX Brokers’ License and Primary Dealer’s License, boosting the business’ network and reach. Obsidian Achernar Limited currently operates with both local and offshore FX licences and currently ranks among the enviable Ghana Club 100 at number 66 after its first ever attempt.

In the UK, the firm is an active member in local London organizations focusing on tackling youth and gang violence. Ashley’s passion also lies in helping the less privileged break through barriers to succeed in education.
